The restaurant is in a strip mall so that kind of gave me low expectations before I even walked in. We were celebrating a birthday so we sat at the grill. The vibe is Benihana-ish with the grillers putting on a show. Unfortunately our griller was only kind of entertaining. He spoke low, with an accent so I only heard half of his jokes. The service was amazing with out drinks being filled quickly and our tables cleaned quickly but there was an issue while we waited for our table...
There was a couple, another adult and a child near the bar where we waited. The couple argued loudly, with many vulgarities, and could be heard across the restaurant. I actually had to go to the hostesses and ask them to shut the loud couple up
because my daughter didn't need to know all of their personal drama.
The male owner made the hostess quiet the unruly people which I thought was messed up. Lastly, though she didn't ruin my experience here, It's important that I mention that the original waitress who took our drink order did not smile for anything. Her face was completely locked in RBF.

If you want to spend a lot of money and have poor service and some of the worst food that I have tasted then this is the place for you.
No drink refills were offered. The food server offered us some Edame garlic which so chewy and stringy that I had extreme difficulty chewing let alone swallowing. The shrimp appetizers came last and the filet mignon was of only average quality. We had to frequently get up to find our server.

If it were possible I would rate this place with only half a star.

Had a great Teppanyaki meal with the family at Shiki Sushi Redlands. It was lunchtime so the restaurant was not full and our table has two other parties. Located at the Orange Citrus Plaza, this Japanese restaurant has an intimate yet friendly atmosphere and is conveniently located near the shopping areas of Redlands.

We were seated after a short wait and were joined by two other couples that were assigned to our table. Surprisingly, the oversized table made it easy to not eavesdrop or rub shoulders with anyone. The staff was quick to take our order and it was nice that you could order non Teppanyaki based dishes. On of the other parties at the table ordered sushi.

The waitress was friendly and always keep our drinks filled, the chef himself was quite entertaining and friendly to our child. He provided equal portions of the rice and meats, so that no one person felt privileged.

My child has since asked if we were going to be returning to Shiki Sushi Redlands, so I am saying that this is a family friendly and fun restaurant to get your kids to eat, socialize and find fun in eating out.

Overall not bad service. We had to wait to get our drinks from the bar and from reading other reviews and seeing it ourselves it's the socializing  of the bartenders. The sushi was good, but the cook your own food at the table was something to be desired. It was okay.

We went here Saturday night for Teppanyaki after living in the area for 7 years.  I was really good, but the service was a little wonky. They don't know how to properly serve a bottle of wine. The cork was half way out of the bottle when we received it and we couldn't get the cork out ourselves and it broke off.  The temperature of the white wine wasn't at cellar temperature, it should have been colder.  Mai Tai's were a little too sweet.
Other than that, our chef was awesome, he put on quite a show for everyone and I think my husband and I were the only ones paying attention.  Food was great, veggies were done just right and there was lots of fried rice left over.  I would definitely go back again.
